A little about me

I’ve been intrigued by behavior, the mind-body connection, and the way our minds work since I was a preteen. In junior high I became interested hypnosis, kept a dream journal, and read everything I could by Carl Jung.

I earned my undergraduate degree at Boston College majoring in Psychology, followed by a Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium, a joint graduate program between the Palo Alto University and Stanford University School of Medicine.

I completed my predoctoral internship at the University of Colorado Department of Family Medicine where I continued to hone speciality in treating chronic pain, insomnia, and supporting individuals living with cancer. While at Stanford, I assisted with research on nonpharmacological treatments for insomnia during pregnancy and designing and implementing online interventions for individuals at risk of developing an eating disorder. After I completed my degree I returned to my hometown of Santa Barbara and deepened my understanding of ACT by completing a multi-year postdoctoral fellowship in ACT under the supervision of Dr. Diana Hill.

Prior to completing my graduate studies I earned a 500 hour Integrative Medicine Practitioner Certification from the Institute for Health and Healing at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California. There, over the course of three years, I gained advanced training in interactive guided imagery and integrative psychotherapy to assist hospitalized patients at the bedside and in the hospital’s outpatient clinics tap into their innate resources and inner strength for healing. I also interned for a year as a yoga therapist at an integrative hospital in Bangalore, India where I was awarded a 500 hour yoga therapist certification from the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Research Institute in Bangalore.

Given my education, training and life experiences, I offer an integrative approach to psychotherapy. In my work with clients I pull from both the rigorous evidenced based training I received during my doctoral studies as well as the more compassion-focused, contemplative, and somatic practices I’ve also cultivated along the way.
